 The #1 Lawn Edger™
is the culmination of 22 years of
design and re-design into optimized perfection.
In the early 1960's, the founder of the
#1 Lawn Edger™ (Bob Keblbek) designed and built his first edger. It was made completely out
of wood, and quickly became the conversation piece of the neighborhood. For years the
neighbors would borrowed this unique tool he created.
Unfortunately for hand tool lovers the world over, he did not envision
the tool as a possible business venture at that time. Even though he was already a successful
entrepreneur. Sometime in the early
1980's his interest in the
Lawn Edger tool rekindled. Bob began to spend his spare time redeveloping the tool. It slowly evolved into the tool you see on this
web site today.
From an all wood construction (except for the blade), plus 2 pins holding it together ... into an easy to assemble configuration using an all metal
stainless steel blade, that can be sharpened, with a milled
wooden handle and a more durable foot rest.
The photo above is this year's new and improved 2005 extra
sturdy, all Stainless Steel bladed Lawn Edger with 4 spot welds and 4 pop
rivets in footplate.
  The lawn edger's existence was not widely known at
first. It was around 1995 that this great tool was placed in independent hardware stores in Washington State. With no advertising they quickly sold out. He then gave the tool to a few professional
gardeners and landscapers.
At first the tool had a lukewarm reception, that is until the landscapers and professional gardeners figured out that there were plenty of uses for this lawn edger.
The rave reviews stated things like, it was perfect for those areas where motorized or electric tools failed. The most common examples of professed success were around:
on the top and bottom of hills
cutting sod
and garden shaping where the lawn meets the garden
Bob's next challenge was to tell the world. Well, that's how the #1 Lawn Edger™
was born.

Using the The #1 Lawn Edger™
is easy. Just slide your foot
into its pre set slipper and take hold of the handle. Put the heel
of the blade in the turf at the place you would like to start. Imbed the
blade into the turf by stepping down on the heel then, step down on the
toe of the blade (do not take blade out of turf). Simply lift toe
up, leaving heel in turf and drag - pull - step forward ...
heel...toe...heel...toe.
